Give them. =09 No. I also assigned this last week (the idea came from someone in another mail ring--I usually save the sender--this time I didn't :-((: Tales of the Talking Toothbrush When your notebook escapes and you can't seem to find it anywhere, have you ever wondered if it has a mind of its own? Have you noticed that suddenly you have no pencils, or only one of a pair of sock?=20 Sometimes objects do seem to be almost alive! This week we are going to think about the toothbrush. Imagine its problems, feelings, and secret desires. Then do one of these activities:=20 A. Write a diary of one day of its life.=20 B. They've just changed the flavor of the toothbrush=92s favorite toothpaste. Write a letter of complaint to the manufacturer for the toothbrush.=20 C. I'm in love with the white REACH toothbrush hanging next door. Help me write a love letter to her/him.=20 D. The toothbrush story of your choice. =20 Illustrate your story. Copy your rough draft on the special paper so you can draw a picture on top. ____1. You have your date and name in the corners of the paper and a title on the top line. Skip a line after the title. ____2. Have margins on the left and right side of your paper. ____3. Indent the first word of the paragraph. ____4. The first sentence of the paragraph must be a topic sentence.=20 This sentence must express the paragraph topic or the central thought of the whole paper. ____5. You have at least 3 supporting sentences. Use a lot of =93sense=94= words! ____6. You have a concluding sentence. ____7. Begin and end each sentence correctly. Make sure each word is correctly spelled. ____8. Each sentence in the paragraph must stick to the topic and relate to the topic sentence. ____9. Proof-read the paragraph, then have someone else--someone who knows their spelling and punctuation--make corrections on your paper.=20 Have them sign this paper. ___10.
