I would like to extend a personal thank you to Barbara for the wonderful information on speeches. That is the one area that I feel least = comfortable teaching. I am always looking for ideas for teaching speeches. If anyone has other information about speeches, I would appreciate it. --Kim Come visit me at Kim's Korner for Teacher Talk http://www.angelfire.com/ks/teachme ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: 6Traits- Re:Speeches From: Date: Tue, 12 Oct 1999 08:00:22 EDT One thing that I have had success with is the local Toastmasters club. I have been able to get some of their competition judges to come in and talk = with my fifth graders about public speaking, making speeches, etc. They = have also been willing to come in and listen to speeches and judge them for me.
