Hi Susan,
I was the one who told you all to keep an eye out for this book. It =
=3D
is WONDERFUL FOR WORD CHOICE!!!!! It's about a little boy who collects =
=3D
neat words that he likes and keeps them in a jar and then has to decide =
=3D
what to do when the jar becomes full! I teach first and I made a large =
=3D
jar shape on tagboard and laminated it and as the kids found neat words =
=3D
they wrote them on the jar. I had a split 1 -2 combo. so it really got =
=3D
going. I highly recommend it for purchase! Now I have to find someone =
=3D
who has a Trumpet order in so I can get another copy or two. It's been =
=3D
a favorite book to take home for reading at home from my classroom =3D
library.
        Susan/WA/1st

It is WONDERFUL FOR WORD CHOICE!!!!! I knew I heard something wonderful about it! My mind stored the info and flagged my attention when I saw it! Thanks for the heads up. I like your jar idea. That would be even more easily accessible for the students than the "Sparkling Words" book! I teach seventh grade language arts. I = have just recently attended a workshop on the "Six plus one traits of writing." = I was wondering if you might be able to suggest which trait I should start with. My students have already written quite a bit this year. How might = I introduce the six traits in the middle of the year? We are doing a lot of = the traits already; we just use a different language. I would appreciate suggestions you might have.
