6Traits Digest #133 - Wednesday, January 26, 2000 Re: Linda Iditarod byRe: substitutes by ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Linda Iditarod From: Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 13:19:29 EST I have lost Linds's E-mail about th Iditarod, so I don' know where to send = this. We (my fifth grade class and I) have been following the Iditarod = for 4 years or so on the Scholastic Network. It has wonderful links and stupendous correspondence on all aspects of the race. We each followed a musher, learned about sled dogs, etc etc etc. I got interested upon = reading Scott O'dell's Black Star, Bright Dawn. a wonderful book!!!!!! to my = fifth graders. We learned about Alaska, did some geography, plotted each day's progress on our maps. there is an iditarod Merchandise catalog Toll free 1-800-545-MUSH (that's 6874) which lists many related books, maps, = histories etc. Homepage on the net is http://www.iditarod.com/ Good luck. It is a wonderfully exciting experience.
