To me it says you haven't reached your threshold yet. I entered my first =

wanted to be a teacher for as long as I could remember, for me it was a =
long
hard road to get there and the realization of a dream. The last two years =

have changed that dream dramatically. I can't wait to get out. I =
officially
stop teaching, March 24, it can't come soon enough. It has not a a thing =
to
do with kids and the joy I experience when in the classroom. It's =
everything
else. The API Scores in California that pit one school against eachother, =

the publishing of test scores in the paper that point fingers at teachers, =

the constant change of methodology by those who THINK they know what is =
best
for student learning made by folks who have no experience in education or =

the classroom- the list could go on.
Currently, I'm completing my master's in educational technology. There =
are
21 people in my cadre. I would say that at least 13 are looking for
employment elsewhere, for similar reasons.

What can (and perhaps should) be done to convince the "best and brightest" =

teachers to STAY in our chosen profession? >>

I don't know what the answer to this is. I wish I did. Someone needs to
figure this out and soon, because I'm wondering what are they going to do =
one
day when the teachers don't come to school?
