Did I...... 1. put a two finger space between words? 2. use capital letters to begin my sentences? 3. put a period at the end of my sentences? 4. check my spelling? As children finish their work we just remind them to use the Did I chart. = The chart is up in the room and teachers can add to it as needed. Jennifer Title 1 teacher ..........................................................................= . 4-blocks also uses the CUPS idea. C=3Dcapitalization U=3Dunderstandable sentences P=3Dpunctuation S=3Dspelling Has anyone made a chart that uses ideas from all the 6 Traits posters? Susan Nixon 2nd Grade Phoenix, AZ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: writing samples From: "Susan Nixon" <susan@desertskyone.com> Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2000 12:25:36 -0700 I will be teaching two 6 Traits workshops in a Phoenix district in August. = I don't like the copies I have of student writing. Some of them will be fine, but I'd like more variety in grade level. If you have anything = you'd be willing to share, with the understanding that the child's name will not be used, please send it to me, with grade level. I'm looking for examples across the rubric, not just high papers. Thanks. The ring is still here.:-) we're just waiting = for spring! ann ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: where is everyone From: Date: Sun, 12 Mar 2000 20:12:55 EST Hi again!,\ I have had that happen to me, too. Just lost track of the ring. We've = been talking about fundraisers, homework, nasty situations at school and = some good websites. I have been trying to handle seasonal affective disorder = (SAD) recently and even a cheery bunch of friends on the net (can I be so bold after 9 months?) just haven't been able to do it until it was 78 degrees = last week and I could get out in the fresh air and start breathing, thinking = about my garden and lose some of the "pudding" I've acquired around my middle = this winter. Now school seems to be a more rational task. and I like people = much more, including myself. SPRING...LIGHT!!!!! I received a great site to go to : http://www.bensguide.gpo.gov = I've been teaching fifth grade government for 9 years and didn't know about = this. We've just gotten the net at school in our classrooms, and it is nice to = know a bank of legit sources to put on my favorites buttons. Also: http://ericir.syr.edui (ask Eric with several lesson plan and other = links.) Hope we don't lose track of you again.
