In case you do a unit on the desert, here's a *great* new book I found at
the ASU bookstore yesterday. It's called _Lizards for Lunch_ and it's by
Conrad J. Storad. The ISBN is1-891795-02-3 and it was $15.95 in hardback.

This is a book about the roadrunner of the southwest. The roadrunner
tells about himself in rhyme. It has both wonderful word choice and
wonderful voice, if you are looking for books that are examples for 6
Traits of Writing.

In the back, there are two pages of factual information about roadrunners.
My students enjoyed it so much, they asked me to read it again. There is
one verse repeated 3 times, and it's about what he eats, ending with "A
hungry Roadrunner likes lizards for lunch." It's terrific!
