Fran and I took a trip to northern California in October for the Pacific
International Quilt Show. Some of the quilt pictures linked are in the
table below. We also spent a day in San Francisco and stayed in Fran's
uncle's "flat," as he calls it. I wish I could have taken good
pictures of the lights of the city from there, as they were
unforgettable. However, I got these pictures the next morning, from the
flat's balcony, before we went to the DeYoung Museum to see the Gee's
Bend quilts, which we were not allowed to photograph. It was the Grand
Re-opening of the museum, after major remodeling, so there were bands
playing, and the mayor coming to speak. We left as the mayor was
arriving, but you will find one picture of a band.
